Overview

The notification and rules for Joint Admission Counselling, Delhi 2018 counselling for the session 2018-19 have been released. The registrations will start on June 15, 2018.

Joint Admission Counselling, Delhi conducts centralised counselling for admission to B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. programs of Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D) and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT).

Eligibility

Entrance Exam

The candidate must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2018 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.

Marks in Qualifying Examination

BE/B.Tech at DTU, NSIT and IGDTUW

  • A candidate must secure 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • The candidate must have passed English as a subject of study at the Senior School Certificate Examination Level (Core or Elective).
  • The candidate must have passed in each subject separately.

B.Tech at IIITD

  • A candidate must secure 80% or more marks in the aggregate of best of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 80% or more in Mathematics.

B.Arch at IGDTUW

  • A candidate must have secured 50% or more marks in the aggregate and have passed Mathematics and English as a subject in the Senior School Certificate Level Examination.
  • The candidate must have passed in each subject separately.

Relaxation in Marks in Qualifying Examination

For DTU and IGDTUW

  • OBC-NCL category: 5% relaxation
  • SC, ST category: 10% relaxation
  • Defence category: 5% relaxation
  • Differently Abled category: 10% relaxation

For NSIT

  • OBC-NCL category: 10% relaxation
  • SC, ST category: Pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Defence category: 5% relaxation
  • Differently Abled category: 5% relaxation

For IIITD

  • OBC-NCL category: 5% relaxation
  • SC, ST category: 10% relaxation
  • Defence category: 5% relaxation
  • Differently Abled category: 5% relaxation

Age

There is no minimum and maximum age criteria.

State Quota Seat Allocation

Delhi Region (85% seats)

A candidate passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School / College / Institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for Delhi Region only.

Outside Delhi Region (15% seats)

A candidate passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School / College / Institute located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be considered for Outside Delhi Region only.

Seat Allotment

For DTU, NSIT and IGDTUW

  • No separate merit list will be prepared. The provisional seat allotment will be based solely on the All India Rank (AIR) of the candidate in the JEE (Main) 2018 examination as given by CBSE.
  • For B.E. / B.Tech. programmes, All India Rank in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2018 will be considered.
  • For B.Arch. at IGDTUW, All India Rank in Paper-2 of JEE (Main) 2018 will be considered.
  • Other than the merit rank, provisional seat allotment will be done by considering all the details provided by the candidate in his/her online application like category, region, minimum qualification eligibility criterion, choices filled etc.

For IIITD

  • Total marks obtained in Paper I in JEE (Main) 2018, converted to base of 100.
  • Bonus marks (maximum:10). Check eligibility for bonus marks here.
  • The priority list will be based on the total of the above two.

Registration Fee

How to apply

  1. Visit the JAC Delhi portal and click on Apply Now.
  2. Pay the registration-cum-counselling fee online.
  3. After successful fee payment, register on JAC Delhi portal by filling your JEE (Main) Roll No., Date of Birth, Nationality and Class 12th Result Status.
  4. Candidates are advised to save the final registration form.

Counselling Procedure

  • There will be nine rounds of Online counseling, including one Upgradation Round, one Spot Round and one Special Round.
  • All aspiring candidates, who are eligible, are required to visit the JAC Delhi portal and pay the registration-cum-counselling fee.
  • After successful fee payment, candidates need to register using their JEE (Main) 2018 details.
  • The candidates claiming reservation under Defence category and candidates claiming Bonus marks for IIIT-D are required to appear for documents verification before online counselling.

    Candidates who have not taken admission in any participating Institute up to sixth Round.
    Candidates who have not been offered any seat up to sixth Round.
    Candidates who withdrew after taking admission in any participating Institute till last date of withdrawal upto which admission fee is refunded after deduction of Rs.1000.
    Candidates who were allotted seat in some round but did not report.
    Candidates who have not filled any choice during online Registration Process.
    Candidates who were allotted seat in some round of counselling, but seat was cancelled due to some deficiency.
  • Eligible Candidates interested to participate in Spot Round are required to register online through JAC Delhi portal and pay the Spot Round Participation Fee of Rs.10,000 which is refundable/adjustable.

Filling-in of Choices

  • All registered candidates are required to submit their choices of Institute and Branch in order of their preference.
  • As per the eligibility of the candidate, available seat information relating to Institute and Branch will be displayed.
  • It is important for candidates to carefully prioritise the academic programs while filling-in the choices.
  • The choices filled by the candidates remain unchanged until spot round, hence the candidates are requested to fill their choices carefully.
  • Candidates can fill in as many numbers of choices in the order of preference as they wish to, from the list of available choices.
  • Candidates are permitted, if they so desire, to change or re-order their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their final set of choices.

Result Declaration

  • Result of seat allotment in various rounds will be declared as per the Counseling Schedule.
  • Provisional seat allotment will be done on the basis of merit rank, category, region, minimum qualification eligibility criterion and choices filled.
  • The selected candidates can take printout of the provisional seat allotment letter after logging into their account on JAC Delhi portal.

Seat Acceptance

  • Candidates who are allotted a seat are required to pay the initial amount of admission fee of Rs.75,000 either by ONLINE mode or through SBI e-challan at any SBI bank branch.
  • Such candidates can download the Provisional Admission letter from JAC Delhi portal by logging in to their account and must report to the allotted Institute for document verification along with all the requisite documents.
  • If a candidate does not report at the respective Institute within the specified period and with the required original documents, his/her allotted seat shall stand automatically cancelled and the candidate shall not have any claim on the seat.
  • If a candidate does not take admission in the provisionally allotted branch in any normal online round, he/she will not be considered in subsequent online rounds of counseling except the Spot Round.
  • Candidates who have been admitted already in any round and get upgraded in next round of counselling, are not required to report again.

Documents required at time of Reporting

Candidates are required to bring the set of Original documents (wherever applicable) along with one set of self-attested photocopies, to the respective Institute.

  12. PD sub-category certificate (from the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Physically Handicapped Karkardooma, Vikas Marg, Delhi-110092)

Acceptance Options

Upgrade

Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to an academic program of better/higher preference (as per candidate’s choices) in any Institute is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted academic program. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.

Freeze

Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that they are content with the allocated academic program and that they do not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. Such candidates will NOT be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.

Branch freezing has to be done online during reporting days of respective round. Program once freezed cannot be reverted and will be treated as final.

Withdraw

  • A candidate, who has already accepted a seat allotted by JAC Delhi 2018, can withdraw the seat by submitting a request through JAC Delhi website.
  • Candidates who have exercised withdraw option will not be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allotment except Spot Round.
  • Candidates who withdraw on or before July 22, 2018 will get the admission fee refunded after deduction of Rs.1000.
  • No request for withdrawal will be entertained after July 22, 2018.
  • Fee refunds for all withdrawals will be processed within 30 days after closing of admission process.

Refund Policy

  • Candidates who have paid the admission fee and withdraw on or before July 22, 2018 will get their admission fee refunded after deduction of Rs.1000.
  • Candidates who are allotted a seat in Spot Round and then withdraw will get no refund and their spot round participation fee will be forfeited.
  • Candidtaes who could not be admitted during Spot Round will get their spot round participation fee refunded.
