Overview
Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi was started in the year 2014 as an initiative of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. JAC Delhi conducts centralised counselling for admission to B.Tech. and B.Arch. programmes at four premier Delhi Government funded universities: Delhi Technological University (DTU), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi).
Admissions are based on the rank obtained in the JEE (Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). For the year 2025, Delhi Technological University (DTU) is the coordinating institution.
The notification for Joint Admission Counselling, Delhi 2025 for the session 2025-26 has been released. Online registration and choice filling will commence on May 21, 2025 (Wednesday) from 10:00 AM.

Entrance Examination
The candidate must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2025 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
Marks in Qualifying Examination
B.Tech./ Dual Degree Programmes at DTU, NSUT, and IGDTUW
- A candidate must secure 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII examination.
- The candidate must have passed English (Core or Elective) as a subject of study in Class XII examination.
- The candidate must have passed in each subject separately.
- The aggregate marks criteria is relaxed to 55% for OBC-NCL and Defence candidates, and 50% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
B.Tech. Programmes at IIIT-Delhi
- A candidate must secure 70% or more marks in the aggregate of best of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 70% or more in Mathematics in Class XII examination.
- The aggregate marks criteria is relaxed to 65% for OBC-NCL, Defence, and PwD candidates, and 60% for SC and ST candidates.
B.Arch. Programmes at NSUT and IGDTUW
- A candidate must secure 45% or more marks in the aggregate in Class XII examination including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and English.
Age Criterion
There is no minimum and maximum age criteria.
State Quota Seat Allocation
Delhi Region Candidates (85% of seats)
A candidate passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School/ College/ Institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for Delhi Region only.
Also, if a candidate has passed the qualifying examination through National Institute of Open School (NIOS) and his/her centre of examination is located in the NCT of Delhi, the candidate shall be considered under the Delhi Region.
Outside Delhi Region Candidates (15% of seats)
A candidate passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School/ College/ Institute located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be considered for Outside Delhi Region only.
Also, if a candidate has passed the qualifying examination through National Institute of Open School (NIOS) and his/her centre of examination is located outside NCT of Delhi, he/she shall be considered under the Outside Delhi Region.
Seat Allotment
For DTU, NSUT and IGDTUW
- The provisional seat allotment will be based solely on the All India Rank (CRL) of the candidate in the JEE (Main) 2025 examination as given by NTA.
- For B.Tech. programmes, All India CRL Rank in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2025 will be considered.
- For B.Arch. course, All India CRL Rank in Paper-2 of JEE (Main) 2025 will be considered.
- Other than the merit rank, provisional seat allotment will be done by considering all the details provided by the candidate in his/her online application like category, region, minimum qualification eligibility criterion, choices filled etc.
For IIIT-Delhi
- A separate merit list will be prepared based on percentile score obtained in Paper-I of JEE (Main) 2025 and bonus points for achievements in various areas.

Registration-cum-Counselling Fee

How to apply
- Visit the JAC Delhi Website and click on “New Candidate Registration”.
- Register by filling your JEE (Main) 2025 Application No., Candidate Name, and Date of Birth.
- Upload the required documents.
- Provide Bank Account details for refunds (if any).
- Pay the non-refundable Registration-cum-Counselling fee.
- Login and fill the desired choices of institute and programme.
- Candidates are advised to save and print the final registration form and filled choices.
Counselling Procedure
- There will be total of six rounds, including four rounds of Online Counselling, followed by an Upgradation Round for already admitted candidates and finally, a Spot Round (subject to availability of seats).
- All eligible and aspiring candidates must register on the JAC Delhi portal and pay the non-refundable registration-cum-counselling fee.
- After successful fee payment, candidates need to fill their choices of institutes and programmes.
- Candidates claiming reservation (e.g., Defence, Kashmiri Migrant) or Bonus Points for IIIT-Delhi must ensure their documents are verified as per the schedule.
- Online registration and choice filling starts May 21, 2025, and the initial window closes on June 2, 2025. An additional single-day window for registration and choice filling/editing will be available on June 19, 2025. No further registrations will be allowed after this window for the entire JAC Delhi 2025 admission cycle.
Filling-in of Choices
- All registered candidates are required to submit their choices of Institute and Programme in order of their preference.
- As per the eligibility of the candidate, available seat information relating to Institute and Programme will be displayed.
- It is important for candidates to carefully prioritise the academic programmes while filling-in the choices.
- Candidates can fill in as many numbers of choices in the order of preference as they wish to, from the list of available choices.
- Candidates can fill and modify their choices during the initial registration window (May 21 – June 2, 2025) and during the single-day window on June 19, 2025. It’s crucial to lock choices by the specified deadlines.
- NEW: Candidates can modify their choices during a special window from July 3 (01:00 PM) to July 4 (01:00 PM), 2025.
Result Declaration
- Results of seat allotment for various rounds will be declared as per the Counselling Schedule.
- Provisional seat allotment will be based on merit rank (JEE Main Rank), category, region, eligibility criteria, and the choices filled by the candidate.
- Selected candidates can download the provisional seat allotment letter after logging into their account on the JAC Delhi portal.
Seat Acceptance
- Candidates who are allotted a seat are required to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of Rs.95,000 online.
- Allotted candidates must download the Provisional Admission letter from the JAC Delhi portal and complete Physical Reporting at the allotted Institute/designated center for document verification along with all requisite documents as per the schedule.
- If a candidate does not pay the Seat Acceptance Fee or fails to report for document verification within the specified period, their allotted seat will be automatically cancelled, and they will not be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allotment.
- Candidates who have already been admitted (paid fee and verified documents) in a previous round and are subsequently upgraded in a later round are not required to report again.
Upgradation of Admitted Candidates (After Round 4)
- After the completion of Round 4 and the admission formalities for that round, an internal upgradation of seats will be carried out for all admitted candidates who opted for upgradation.
- Only those candidates who are already admitted (fee paid and documents verified) and have not withdrawn their admission or frozen their choice before this stage are eligible for this upgradation.
Document Verification Schedule for Reserved Categories/Bonus Points
Candidates claiming reservation under categories such as Defence, Kashmiri Migrant (KM), or those claiming Bonus Points for IIIT-Delhi, are required to undergo document verification.

Documents Required at Time of Physical Reporting
Candidates are required to bring the set of Original documents (wherever applicable) along with one set of self-attested photocopies, to the respective Reporting Centre.
- Receipt of the Seat Acceptance Fee Payment.
- Online Registration Form duly signed by guardian/parent and candidate.
- Printout of filled choices.
- Three passport size color photographs.
- Printout of the Admit Card of JEE (Main) 2025.
- Printout of the Rank Card of JEE (Main) 2025.
- Class XII (or equivalent) board Marks sheet.
- Printout of Seat Allotment Letter from JAC Delhi portal.
- Proof of Date of Birth (e.g., Class X certificate).
- Bonus Point documents (if eligible for IIIT-Delhi bonus points).
- Reserved category Certificate (e.g., SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) in the prescribed format, if applicable.
- Medical Fitness Certificate.
- Differently Abled (PD) sub-category certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable.
- Defence (CW) sub-category documents in the prescribed format, if applicable.
Post-Allotment Options (Freeze/Float/Withdrawal)
After a seat is allotted, candidates have the following options:
Float (or Upgrade)
Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that if admission to an academic programme of better/higher preference (as per their filled choices) in any Institute is offered in subsequent rounds, they will accept it. Otherwise, they will continue with the currently accepted academic programme. Such candidates are considered in subsequent rounds of seat allocation.
Freeze
Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that they are content with the allocated academic programme and do not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation for upgradation. Such candidates will NOT be considered for upgradation in subsequent rounds of admission.
The option to freeze a seat is exercised online through the JAC Delhi portal during specified period. Once a programme is frozen, it is considered final and cannot be changed.
Withdrawal
- A candidate who has already accepted a seat (paid Seat Acceptance Fee) can opt to withdraw the seat by submitting an online request through the JAC Delhi website within the stipulated time.
- Candidates who exercise the withdrawal option will not be considered for subsequent rounds of seat allotment, except for the Spot Round (if they re-register and are eligible).
- Candidates who withdraw on or before the last date of withdrawal will receive a refund of the Seat Acceptance Fee after a deduction of Rs. 1,000 as a processing charge.
- No amount shall be refunded if the candidate withdraws after the last date of withdrawal.
Refund Policy
- Candidates who have paid the Seat Acceptance Fee and withdraw their admission through the JAC Delhi portal on or before the last date of withdrawal will have their fee refunded after a deduction of Rs. 1,000.
- Fee refunds for all withdrawals will be processed within 20 days after the last date of withdrawal.
