Overview

Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow for admission to Government / Government Aided / Private Unaided institutions affiliated to the University or some other state Universities of Uttar Pradesh.

From the academic session 2021-22, the UPSEE entrance examination has been discontinued for Engineering Admissions. It will be replaced by National Level JEE Main exam.

Pattern

  • Each objective type question will carry four marks (five marks in Paper 3).
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • Candidates need to fill the OMR sheet with blue/black ball point pen.
  • All question papers (except Part B Paper-3) will be in Hindi and English both.

Eligibility

Qualifying Examination

For B.Tech. / B.Des

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must have passed without grace the compulsory subjects (Physics & Mathematics) and one optional subject (Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject).
  • Candidate must have secured an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) in the above mentioned three subjects.
  • All candidates who are eligible for admission in B.Tech. course are also eligible for B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) and B.Tech. (Bio-Technology).

For B.Tech. (Bio-Technology)

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must have passed without grace the compulsory subjects (Physics & Mathematics/Biology) and one optional subject (Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Technical Vocational subject).
  • Candidate must have secured an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) in the above mentioned three subjects.

For B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering)

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent examination in agricultural subjects.
  • Candidate must have secured an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • All Eligible candidates for B.Tech. are also eligible for B.Tech. (Agriculture).

For B.Arch.

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must have passed without grace the compulsory subjects (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics).
  • Candidate must have secured an aggregate of 50% and 50% marks in each compulsory subject.

For B.Pharm.

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must have passed without grace the compulsory subjects (Physics & Chemistry) and one optional subject (Mathematics / Bio-Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational Subject).
  • Candidate must have secured an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) in the above mentioned three subjects.

  • There is no age limit.

Fees

UPSEE 2021 Application Fee is ₹1300 (for Male / Transgender Candidates of General / OBC Category) and ₹650 (for SC/ST Category and Female Candidates / Physically Handicapped Candidates).

  1. Candidates need to visit the UPSEE website and choose a password while filling up the Online Application. After successful submission of the data, an Application number will be generated which will be used for subsequent logins.
  2. Once the candidate has registered, he/she is required to upload scanned images of his/her photograph and signature.
  3. The candidate is then required to pay the Examination Fee which can be done by Credit card/Debit card/Net Banking.
  4. Once the payment is done, Confirmation Page will be generated. Candidates are advised to save it for future reference.

Note

  • The scanned photograph should be colour with the name of the candidate printed on it.
  • The entire application process is online, thus the candidates are not required to send any document to the University.

Application Correction

  • Candidates will be provided a facility to make corrections in their application form particulars.
  • It is a one-time facility and is extended to the candidates to avoid any hardship to them.
  • The correction facility will be available after it’s notified.

Note

  • Certain examination cities may be cancelled if sufficient number of candidates do not opt for that city.
  • Request for change of city of examination shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

Admit Card

  • Admit Card can be downloaded from UPSEE website after it’s notified.
  • Candidates are advised to check the category, sub-category, gender, rural weightage, name, father’s name etc. mentioned on the Admit Card.
  • A printed copy of the downloaded admit card should be produced at the time of examination.
  • Admit Card should be carefully preserved until the admission process is completed.

Answer Keys

  • The answer keys of the examination will be made available on the UPSEE website as per schedule.
  • The candidates who aren’t satisfied with any answer can challenge the answer keys online before the deadline.

Merit List / Result

  • The results of UPSEE-2021 are expected to be declared after it’s notified.
  • Merit position, score-card with total marks and marks obtained in each subject shall be available on UPSEE website after the declaration of the result.
  • Separate merit lists will be prepared for each course based on the performance of the candidates in the examination.
  • The cut-off percentage of marks in UPSEE for the merit of successful candidates is 25% (20% for SC/ST) as per UP State Govt. order.
  • Successful candidates shall be called for counselling according to their merit in UPSEE by giving intimation through Newspapers and website.

Re-Checking

  • The candidate can get his/her answer sheets scrutinized on payment of Rs. 5000/- per paper within seven days of the declaration of result.
  • The application for scrutiny may be submitted to the Registrar, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow (U.P.) 226031 in writing.

Admissions

Overview

  • 100% seats in all the courses in the first year for Government/ Government Aided/ Govt. Self Financed Institutes will be filled by UPSEE JEE Main qualified candidates.
  • 85% seats in all the courses for private colleges will be filled by UPSEE JEE Main qualified candidates.
  • 15% of the total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions will be filled by the Management quota / NRI candidates.
  • 20% of the total sanctioned seats for admission in first year of all the courses in all the Institutions affiliated to AKTU shall be open to all the candidates including outside Uttar Pradesh candidates. These seats shall be filled on the basis of UPSEE JEE Main Merit.

Categories

UPGE

  • Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located in the State of U.P. and who do not claim for any reserved category are eligible for admission to all the courses at all the institutions against available General (OPEN) seats.

UPSC / UPST / UPBC

  • Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located in the State of U.P. and are domicile of U.P. and belong to Schedule Caste (SC) of U.P. / Schedule Tribe (ST) of U.P. / Other Backward Classes of U.P. are eligible for admission against available reserved seats of their category.

UPGD

  • Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located outside U.P. and whose parents are domicile of U.P. and who have not claimed for any reserved category, are also eligible for admission to courses offered at all institutions under General (OPEN) category.
  • Such a candidate has to produce the domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother only) at the time of counselling.

GDSC / GDST / GDBC

  • Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located outside U.P. and whose parents are domicile of U.P. and who belong to Schedule Caste of U.P. / Schedule Tribe of U.P. / Other Backward classes of U.P. are also eligible for admission against reserved seats of their category.
  • Such candidate has to produce the domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother only) and Category Certificate at the time of counselling.

GDDA

  • The domicile requirement to son/daughter is relaxed for Defense personnel settled in U.P. on the date of Entrance Examination after retirement / being disabled in action or Defense personnel killed in action and the dependents settled in U.P. on the date of Entrance Examination.
  • The domicile requirement to son/daughter is relaxed for Defense personnel who are not domicile of U.P. but are posted in U.P. on the date of Entrance Examination.
  • The domicile requirement to son/daughter is relaxed for Employee of All India Services belonging to U.P. cadre.

OSGE

  • Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution located outside U.P. and whose parents are NOT domicile of U.P.
  • Such candidates, along with candidates of other categories, shall be considered only against 20 percent of the sanctioned intake of the first year in Technology / Architecture courses in Private Institutions affiliated to AKTU.
