MHT-CET (MHCET) is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell for admission to the first year of full-time degree courses of Health Sciences and Technical Education (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy) in the state of Maharashtra.

For All India candidates, preference shall be given to the candidates obtaining a non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) Paper I over the candidates who obtained a non-zero score in CET.

Pattern

  • The exam will be a computer-based test (CBT).
  • Group I (PCM) will consist of two subject papers namely, Mathematics, and Physics+Chemistry.
  • Group II (PCB) will consist of two subject papers namely, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • Each subject paper will be of one and half hours duration and 100 marks.
  • 20% of questions in each subject paper will be from Class XI while the remaining 80% of questions will be from Class XII.
  • All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) i.e. each question will have four choices, only one being the correct choice.
  • There will be no Negative Marking.
  • The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, the Mathematics paper shall be in English only.

Eligibility

Nationality

  • Candidates should be of Indian Nationality.

Qualifying Examination

  • Candidates must be passed/ appearing in the HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination.

Age

  • There is no age limit.


Syllabus

Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for the MHTCET will have 20% weightage of class XI curriculum and 80% weightage of class XII curriculum.

Mock Test

  • The official mock test is made available to the candidates appearing for MHT CET.
  • Candidates can take the Mock Test to understand the pattern of the computer-based test and make themselves familiar with the interface.
  • The mock test is for practice purpose only.

  • The registrations for MHT-CET 2024 examination will begin from January 16, 2024.
  • The last date to apply is March 1, 2024 March 8, 2024 without any late fee and March 15, 2024 with a late fee of Rs. 500.

  1. Visit the MHT-CET site & click on “Registration (For New Candidates)”.
  2. Read the instructions carefully and click Ok.
  3. Fill the online application form with appropriate details and Upload your scanned photograph and Signature.
  4. Pay the examination fee online using a Debit card/ Credit card/ Net Banking.
  5. Save the generated confirmation page for future use.

  • It will be conducted at all the district headquarters in the State of Maharashtra as well as at capital districts of selected states outside Maharashtra namely Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh depending on the availability of the candidates.

Note

  • The eligible candidates passing the qualifying examination can select the examination centre of their choice while filling the online application form.
  • The centre once allotted shall not be changed under any circumstances.
  • If a candidate opts for both the groups i.e. PCM and PCB, he/she may get different examination centres for them.

Hall Ticket / Admit Card

  • The admit card can be downloaded from the MHT-CET site after it’s notified.
  • Please note that admit card will be issued only to those eligible candidates who have submitted their application form complete in all respect, on or before the last date.
  • Candidates are required to bring the printout of the Admit Card and a valid photo ID proof on the day of examination.

Answer Keys

  • The answer keys of the computer based examination will be made available on the MHT-CET website as per schedule.
  • The recorded responses of the candidates will also be made available to candidates along with the answer keys.

Result

  • The result of the exam is expected to be declared on the MHT-CET website after it’s notified.
  • In order to normalize the candidate scores across multiple sessions, Percentile scores will be used.
  • The Percentile Score is a score calculated based on the relative performance of all the candidates who appeared in the exam. It will be calculated up to 5 decimal places to avoid the bunching effect and reduce ties.
  • Candidates will be ranked by their Percentile score.
  • The score and rank secured by a candidate will be shown in the result.

Eligibility for Admission

Candidate Type

Maharashtra State Candidate

Type A

  • Candidates passing SSC AND also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State.
  • A candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra.

Type B

  • A candidate who does not fall in Type-A, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.

Type C

  • A candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.

Type D

  • A candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

Type E

  • Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

All India Candidate

  • The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this category.

Minority Candidate

  • The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from the State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this category.

Others

  • Children of NRI/ OCI/ PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National are exempted from appearing for MHTCET.

Eligibility for First Year Engineering

Maharashtra State Candidate

  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45% marks in these subjects taken together (40% for Backward class categories, EWS, and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and obtained a non-zero score in MHT-CET.
  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (45% for Backward class categories, EWS, and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).

All India / J&K Migrant Candidates

  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45% marks in these subjects taken together (40% for Backward class categories, EWS, and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and obtained a non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) Paper I or MHT-CET.
  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (40% for Backward class categories and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
  • For All India candidates, preference shall be given to the candidates obtaining a non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) Paper I over the candidates who obtained a non-zero score in CET.
