JEE Main 2020 and CBSE Board exams Postponed
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has instructed various bodies to reschedule all ongoing exams as a precautionary measure due to COVID-19 breakout. National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the JEE Main 2020 April exam which was to be conducted during April 5 – April 11, 2020.
MHRD circular states “Since JEE Mains may require travel by examinees to different towns and the dates may clash with rescheduled CBSE and other board exams therefore, JEE mains should be rescheduled and new date of JEE mains will be announced on 31st March after reassessment of situation”.

Accordingly, the admit cards for the examinations which were to be issued on March 20, 2020 will now be issued after March 31, 2020 only.

“The JEE-Main exam has been postponed. The new date will be decided in accordance with the board exams schedule and other competitive exams to ensure there is no clash”, a senior NTA official said.
CBSE has also released a circular stating all ongoing examinations for class X and class XII, being held in examination centres in India and abroad, and scheduled between March 19 and March 31, 2020 shall be rescheduled after March 31, 2020.
Also, the rescheduled board examinations for the North East Delhi candidates will be again rescheduled. The new schedule is likely to be announced by March 31, 2020 after re-assessment of the situation.
Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is an all India common engineering entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country.
Those candidates who are looking for admissions into undergraduate programmes B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch in NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other institutions can apply for the exam.
The JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidates can take if they are seeking admissions to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
