The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced many new changes for JEE Main 2022 examination.

The pattern has been revised to introduce negative marking for numerical value questions. View All Changes.

The first test is scheduled to be conducted on April 16 – April 21, 2022 while the second test is scheduled to be conducted on May 24 – May 29, 2022. Check JEE Main Important Dates for other important dates.

JEE Main Exam Changes

1. Negative Marking

  • Negative marking has been introduced for Numerical Value Questions (Section B) in JEE Main 2022 examination.
  • Every incorrect answer will have a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark).
  • Earlier only Multiple Choice Questions (Section A) had negative marking.

2. Test City Restriction

  • The choice of Centre Cities will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only.
  • The action has been taken in light of the Unfair Means adopted by a few candidates last year.
  • Earlier there were no restrictions on choosing the centre city.

3. No Correction Facility

  • The candidates are advised to exercise the utmost care in filling up the Application Form since no corrections will be permitted once the Application Form is submitted.
  • Earlier candidats were provided a correction facility after the closure of Application Form to correct errors in the Application Form.
