Eligibility

Mode 1 – JEE Main Merit

Entrance Examination

The candidate must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2024 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

Qualifying Examination

  • The applicant should have passed the 10+2 examination in 2022, 2023 or should be appearing in 2024.
  • The candidate should secure a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject) in the class 12th examination.

Mode 2 – Class 12th Merit

Entrance Examination

The candidate must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2024 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

Qualifying Examination

  • The applicant should have passed the 10+2 examination in 2022, 2023 or should be appearing in 2024.
  • For Branch Group A: The candidate should secure a minimum of 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject) in the class 12th examination.
  • For Branch Group B: The candidate should secure a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject) in the class 12th examination.

Criteria of Selection

  • JEE Main Mode: Admissions will be based on the percentile merit of JEE (Main) – 2024 Examination, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Class 12th Mode: Admissions will be based on the merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject.
  • Note: If any of the seats in the JEE Main mode remain unfilled, such vacant seats shall be filled by Class 12th mode in the final round of in-person counselling and vice-versa.

Application Fee

The prescribed registration fee for TIET Patiala Application Form is ₹1500.

Registration

  • The registration for TIET Patiala Admissions will close on May 8, 2024 for Round 1.
  • Candidates shall be eligible for both modes of admission and need not submit two separate application forms. The application form submitted by the candidate shall be considered for both modes.
  • Candidates can apply later with a higher registration fee:

How to apply

Procedure

  1. Visit Thapar Admissions website to apply.

  2. Fill in your details and Create an account to get your Username and Password.
  3. Log in with your “Username” and “Password”.
  4. Fill up the Personal Details, Academic Details, choose the preferences of the program.
  5. Pay the Application Fee through the Payment Gateway (online mode) or Demand Draft (offline mode).
  6. Save the application for future reference.

Notes

  • If Application Fee is paid Online: The candidates are not required to send the printout of the application form but they must produce it at the time of document checking of original documents during “In-person” counselling.
  • If Application Fee is paid through DD: Please send the printout of the filled downloaded application along with the DD of the required amount (in favour of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, payable at Patiala) to “In-charge Admission Cell, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala (Punjab) – 147004” before the last date of submission.

Counselling

  • There will be multiple rounds of seat allotment in both Online Counselling.
  • In the final round of counselling, any seat remaining vacant through Mode-1 shall be filled through Mode-2 and vice versa.
  • The branch preference order once filled in the application form cannot be changed during the online counselling. However, during In-Person counselling, the candidate shall have the option of submitting fresh preference order for the subsequent counselling(s).
