Overview

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has released the counselling details for Manipal Entrance Test 2019 (MET 2019). The admission counselling will begin on May 31, 2019.

The seat allocation in Manipal counselling will be done on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) in MET 2019. The counselling is common for Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and Manipal University Jaipur.

Candidates can select the campus and branch of their choice at the time of counselling based on the MET 2019 rank, subject to seat availability.

Eligibility

Entrance Examination

  • The candidate must have appeared for MET 2019 to be eligible for admission.

Qualifying Examination

  • Candidates must have passed in the HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • Candidate should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and one of the optional subjects mentioned below. In each of these subjects, candidates should have scored at least minimum marks prescribed by the board.

  • Candidates awaiting their HSC/12th Standard examination results are also eligible for the counseling provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria when their result is declared. Results must be made available to University on or before June 15, 2019.

Counselling Location

The candidates are required to report to any one of the counseling centers as per the counseling schedule. For the first round of counseling, there will be four centers viz. Manipal, Sikkim, Jaipur, and Hyderabad.

Counselling Procedure

  • There will be seven rounds of counseling, including one Intra-Institute Sliding Round and one Spot Round.
  • The first round, intra-institute sliding, and spot round are physical rounds whereas rest of the rounds are online.
  • Depending on the vacancy, an additional round of counseling may be conducted after the Spot round.
  • The admission will be done on the basis of candidate’s All India Rank (AIR) in the entrance examination (Manipal Entrance Test) and the availability of seats.
  • Candidates will have to confirm their participation in the Counseling process by logging into the MET Counselling portal and updating the profile details with Marks obtained in Qualifying examination & Demand Draft Details.
  • On completion of data entry in the candidate’s profile, candidates must download, print and bring the hard copy of Common Registration Form for the Registration and Document verification process at the preferred Counseling venue in the first round of counselling.
  • Candidates have to bring two separate DD of Rs.3,25,000 and Rs.10,000 drawn in favour of ‘Manipal Academy of Higher Education’, payable at Manipal/Udupi in the first round of counselling.

Round 1 (Physical)

  • The physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory.
  • If a candidate is unable to be physically present for the counselling due to unavoidable circumstances, he/she may authorize another individual to represent him/her at the counselling. The authorized representative must carry the letter of authorization and all the required documents.
  • Candidate/Authorized person should be physically present at the time of counseling venue for Document verification. This registration will be valid for the first 5 rounds of counseling.

  • The candidate is required to produce originals of the mentioned documents for verification along with one set of self-attested photocopies.
  • The original documents will be given back to the candidate after verification.
  • Both the demand drafts must be submitted along with the documents during document verification.

Seat Allotment

Seat Allotment

  • The seat will be allotted as per the MET 2019 Rank and subject to seat availability.
  • On seat allotment, both the DD’s (Rs. 3,25,000 and Rs. 10,000) will be retained.
  • Provisional Admission order and receipt/s for the payment made will be given to the candidate on completion of the admission process.
  • Candidates who require hostel facility should contact the Chief Warden’s Office of the allotted institution for hostel enrollment. Online links for booking the hostels will be made available at the hostel counters at the counseling venues.
  • Candidates should report to the allotted college on or before the Reporting date mentioned in the Provisional Admission order.

Waitlist

Waitlist

  • Registered candidates who have not taken/got the seat in the first round OR admitted candidates who wish to upgrade are eligible for the waitlist.
  • Candidates who have taken/got a seat in the first round and wish to participate in subsequent round(s) of counseling, can opt for waitlist without additional payment.
  • First-round registered candidates who have not taken/got the seat in the first round can opt for waitlist with DD payment of Rs.10,000 as waitlist deposit. This waitlist deposit will be refunded, in case the candidate is not allotted any seat, after completion of all rounds of Counseling.
  • Candidates cannot opt to get waitlisted for a branch that is currently available for selection at the time of seat allotment, on the day of counseling.

Round 2 – Round 4 (Online)

  • Admitted candidates who wish to upgrade and waitlisted candidates are eligible.
  • Eligible Candidates can fill/modify and save their choices in the order of their preferences, any number of times before the deadline for locking of choices.
  • If a candidate fails to lock the choices within the stipulated time, last saved choices will be automatically locked after the deadline.
  • Once locked, the choices made cannot be modified, before/after the deadline for that particular round.
  • Candidates are advised to fill in the choices (institutes and branches) of their interest only.
  • Once the seat is allotted as per their choice irrespective of the preferential order (higher or lower), candidates have to accept the seat and complete the admission formalities.
  • If a provisionally admitted candidate gets upgraded to a new branch, the previously allotted branch will be cancelled and the candidate can download the new Provisional Admission order from the Counseling portal.
  • If a waitlisted gets a seat allotted for the first time, the candidate must pay the first year Program Fee of Rs. 3,25,000 via Online/RTGS within the deadline for that round in order to accept the seat. If not paid within the deadline, the candidate is out of the counseling process and will also forfeit the waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000.
  • If the admitted candidate rejects the allotted seat, they are required to complete the withdrawal process and the fee will be refunded as per refund policy. The candidate will be out of the counseling process.
  • On rejection of allotted seat (by Admitted / Waitlisted candidates), re-entry is possible only in the fifth / spot round.

Round 5 (Online)

  • Candidates who had not registered in the first round as well as Admitted and waitlisted candidates are eligible.
  • New registrants are required to register online at Manipal Counselling portal (Use application number as login ID and OTBS password as password) by filling the registration form, payment of waitlist deposit (Rs. 10,000), choice filling and locking.
  • Candidates who have rejected an allotted seat in any previous round can re-enter as new registrants by paying waitlist deposit of Rs.10,000 online.
  • Eligible Candidates can fill/modify and save their choices in the order of their preferences, any number of times before the deadline for locking of choices.
  • If a candidate fails to lock the choices within the stipulated time, last saved choices will be automatically locked after the deadline.
  • Once locked, the choices made cannot be modified, before/after the deadline for that particular round.
  • Candidates are advised to fill in the choices (institutes and branches) of their interest only.
  • Once the seat is allotted as per their choice irrespective of the preferential order (higher or lower), candidates have to accept the seat and complete the admission formalities.
  • New registrants who are allotted a seat have to pay Rs. 3,25,000 (balance first-year course fee) by Online Payment or RTGS Payment.
  • Candidates paying through RTGS are required to submit RTGS payment Details on Manipal Counselling portal by filling Payment Date, Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) Number, Account Holder’s Name and Amount along with uploading Counter slip.
  • If the admitted candidate rejects the allotted seat, they are required to complete the withdrawal process and the fee will be refunded as per refund policy. The candidate will be out-of-the-counseling process and also forfeit the waitlist fee of Rs.10,000.
  • On rejection of allotted seat (by Admitted / Waitlisted candidates), re-entry is possible only in the Spot Round.

Intra-Institute Sliding Round (Physical)

  • After five rounds of counseling, if a vacancy exists, the intra-institute sliding will be conducted for the candidates who have joined the institute and have started attending the classes.
  • In intra-institute sliding, the up gradation is possible only within the institute and is no possibility of movement across the campus.
  • The candidates can physically register for intra-institute sliding at the respective institute by filling their choices and locking it.
  • The seat will be allotted to the candidates as per vacancy, MET 2019 rank, and choice.

Spot Round (Physical)

  • The vacant seat (if any) after the intra-institute sliding will be filled in the spot round as per MET 2019 Rank.

  • All the candidates who wish to participate in the spot round shall physically report to the respective institute at 9.00 AM on the day of the Spot round.
  • The candidates should bring the required documents along with two separate DD of Rs.3,25,000 and Rs.10,000 drawn in favour of ‘Manipal Academy of Higher Education’, payable at Manipal/Udupi, before the registration for spot round.
  • Those who have already paid the wait-list fee (Rs.10,000) for registration may bring a demand draft for the balance amount (Rs.3,25,000).
  • Eligible candidates who have submitted all the documents for verification and paid the fee will be permitted to register for spot round and the seat will be allotted as per the MET 2019 rank, their choice and availability of seats.
  • Candidates who have got the seat in the spot round will have to collect the admission order and report to the allotted institute as per the date mentioned in the admission order.
  • If a candidate is not allotted a seat, then the fee collected will be refunded.
  • Note: If there are any vacancies after the spot round, they will be filled on the basis of JEE (Main) rank.
