Overview

The notification and rules for Joint Admission Counselling, Chandigarh 2025 (JAC Chandigarh 2025) counselling, also known as Chandigarh Engineering and Architecture Counselling, for the session 2025-26 have been released. The registrations will start on TBA.

Joint Admission Committee, Chandigarh conducts centralised counselling for admission to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. programs of UIET Chandigarh, Dr. SSBUICET Chandigarh, CCET Chandigarh, UIET PUSSGRC and CCA Chandigarh.

B.Arch. Architecture

Eligibility

Entrance Examination

The candidate must have appeared for JEE (Main) 2025 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

Year of Passing Qualifying Examination

  • Only those candidates who have passed their Class XII or equivalent examination in 2023, 2024, or those who are appearing in Class XII or equivalent examination in 2025, are eligible.
  • Candidates who passed Class XII or equivalent examination in 2022 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2026 or later are not eligible.

Marks in Qualifying Examination

B.E. OR Integrated B.E.- MBA

  • The candidate must have passed the class XII or equivalent examination with 5 subjects OR passed 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
  • The required set of subjects in class XII include:
    • Language (Hindi/ English/ Punjabi/ Any Other Language)
    • Physics
    • Mathematics
    • Any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject
    • Any other subject

B.Arch

  • Passed class XII or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate, OR Passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Category Clarification (PU Institutes)

  • Panjab University Institutions (UIET, Dr. SSBUICET, UIET PUSSGRC) do not offer OBC reservation.
  • OBC candidates can apply under the BC category if they meet Panjab University’s BC norms.
  • Failure to meet PU’s BC norms will result in General Category consideration.
  • A non-creamy layer certificate (or explicit mention in BC certificate) is mandatory for BC eligibility.

State Quota Seat Allocation

  • For admission to institutes under Chandigarh Administration (CCET Chandigarh and CCA Chandigarh), admissions are based on Chandigarh Quota and Outside Chandigarh Quota.
  • Those candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII) from schools/colleges located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh, are considered under the Chandigarh Quota for CCET and CCA.
  • All other candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from elsewhere, fall under the Outside Chandigarh Quota for CCET and CCA.
  • There is no Chandigarh Quota for institutes of Panjab University: University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) Chandigarh, Dr. SSB University Institute of Chemical Engg. & Technology (Dr. SSBUICET) Chandigarh, University Institute of Engineering and Technology Panjab University SSG Regional Centre Hoshiarpur (UIET, PUSSGRC).

Criteria of Selection

  • Only the All India CRL Rank secured in JEE (Main) 2025 will be considered for the merit list, except in the Sports Category and the Defence Category where other points will also be considered.
  • JEE (Main) 2025 Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech) rank will be used for admission to B.E./Integrated B.E.-MBA courses and Paper-2A (B. Arch) rank will be used for admission to B.Arch. course.

Registration Fee

₹2800 (General category candidates), ₹1400 (SC/ST/PwD category candidates)

How to apply

  1. Visit the JAC Chandigarh portal and click on “New Candidate Registration”.
  2. Register by filling your JEE Main 2025 Application No., Name, Mother’s Name and Date of Birth.
  3. Complete the Registration Form and pay the registration-cum-counselling fee online by Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking/ UPI.
  4. Candidates are advised to save the final registration form.

Counselling Procedure

  • There will be five rounds of Online counseling i.e. 3 Regular Rounds, 1 Special Round and 1 Spot Round.
  • All aspiring candidates, who are eligible, are required to visit the JAC Chandigarh portal and register using their JEE (Main) 2025 details.
  • Candidates are required to pay the registration fee through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet banking/ UPI.
  • A correction window will be opened before the first round as well as before the Special Round of counseling to modify/update the information provided at the time of registration.
  • The candidates applying for various categories have to upload required documents for verification before online counselling.
  • All candidates who have either freshly registered for Special Round or registered before first round of counselling can participate in the Special Round.
  • In the Spot round, all the registered candidates can participate regardless of whether they had participated in previous rounds or not.
  • Spot round is also Online Counselling. For participating in Spot round of Counselling, the candidate (who has not paid the ₹40,000 Seat Acceptance Fee previously) is required to pay ₹40,000 as participation fee before choice submission. If a seat is allotted, participation fee will not be refunded. If a seat is not allotted, participation fee will be fully refunded.
  • Candidates who have already paid Seat Acceptance Fee of ₹40,000 till Special Round are not required to pay the Spot Round participation fee.

Document Verification & Physical Reporting

  • Online Upload During Registration: Candidates applying for reserved categories must upload required documents online during registration for verification before counselling begins. Failure to upload may result in consideration under General Category only.
  • Physical Reporting: All candidates provisionally admitted after paying the Seat Acceptance Fee in Rounds 1, 2, or 3 must physically report at the allotted institute after the Third Round as per the schedule. Candidates admitted in the Special/Spot rounds must report physically as per the schedule after their respective round allotments.

Filling-in of Choices

  • All registered candidates are required to submit their choices of Institute and Branch in order of their preference.
  • It is important for candidates to carefully prioritise the academic programs while filling-in the choices.
  • Candidates are required to submit single set of combined choices for Engineering and Architecture streams, if they are eligible for both the streams.
  • Choice filling is optional for those candidates who are eligible only for Architecture, and Architecture in CCA will be considered automatically after successful registration.
  • Candidates can fill in as many numbers of choices in the order of preference as they wish to, from the list of available choices.
  • Candidates should take advantage of the mock seat allocations and choose as many academic programs as possible in the order of preference.
  • Candidates are permitted, if they so desire, to change or re-order their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their final set of choices.
  • Registered candidates who do not exercise any choices in any of the round will not be considered for seat allotment. However, they will be eligible for Spot round of Counselling (after paying the participation fee of ₹40,000).
  • Candidates can also modify their choices in further rounds.

Seat Acceptance

  • Candidates who are allotted a seat for the first time in any of the first three rounds or the Special Round are required to pay the seat acceptance fee of ₹40,000 to confirm their allotted seat.
  • Allotted candidates are also required to submit their choice of willingness online for upgradation (Yes Upgradation, No Upgradation) for the subsequent rounds of Counselling.
  • Candidates are not required to go anywhere for Physical reporting after seat allotment until after Round 3. Payment of fee using any one of the online modes (Debit Card/Credit Card/ Internet banking/UPI) and online submission of willingness for the subsequent rounds will be treated as reporting against allotted seat.
  • Candidates who are allotted a seat for the first time in any of the first three rounds and subsequently do not pay fee, their allotted seat will be cancelled automatically and such candidates will not be considered for subsequent rounds of Counselling except for the Special Round and Spot round of Counselling (after paying the participation fee of ₹40,000).
  • All the candidates who have paid the seat acceptance fee after seat allotment in the First Round or in the Second Round or in the Third Round of Counselling will have to physically report after the Third Round as per Counselling Schedule to complete the admission process and subsequently attend the classes.

Withdrawal

  • The candidates, who are provisionally admitted after paying the admission fee of ₹40,000 and want to withdraw their allotment before the Spot round, can do so directly through JAC web portal as per the schedule.
  • Such candidates have to login using their login credentials and initiate online withdrawal request and submit bank details for refund of fee like Bank Name, Branch Name, IFSC Code, Account No and Name of the Account Holder.
  • Candidates who withdraw their provisional admission at any stage, will not be considered for subsequent rounds of Counselling except for the Special/Spot round of Counselling.

Refund Policy

  • The Registration Fee is non-refundable.
  • Seat Acceptance Fee Refund: Candidates who applied for withdrawal of allotted seat before the Spot round as per schedule, and those who deposited Spot Round participation fee of ₹40,000 but were not allotted any seat, will be refunded the fee after the Spot Round of Counselling.
  • Candidates Not Reporting Before Spot Round: If a student, after being granted admission and paying the fee, does not physically report and withdraws before the Spot round, the entire fee paid shall be refunded.
  • Refund by Institute: Candidate who withdraws his/her allotted seat after the Spot round of counselling will be entitled for refund as per the allotted Institute’s Refund Rules. The refund request must be submitted to the allotted institute.
